CONFIDENT AND COURAGEOUS/ I Hope You Dance Series

I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this gracious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Philippians 1:6 (TPT)

Rise up and Reach out

Practice makes perfect! Though we have a ways to go, we know that we are ultimately going to look graceful and beautiful because our partner is a pro! God created the dance of life and knows every step by heart. He is the perfect teacher and will always correct us with a loving tone and tender touch.

As we become more familiar with His voice, whispering softly in our ear, may our confidence in our own steps become greater. May we learn to be bold and courageous to not only practice more often but to begin dancing throughout all areas of our life. Most importantly, may we be so passionately in love with our dance partner that we want to share Him with the people around us. Inviting them into this dance of a lifetime as well.

Inviting Others

Inviting others in can seem intimidating and difficult. Though that may be true, it is such an important step to learn in this dance. Dancing alone may be fun but dancing with others is always a party! At times we will lead and other times we will follow. We may trip, stumble and make a few mistakes. Through it all our perfect partner will always be there to swoop in, scoop us up and start us off on the right foot again.

I want to look you deep in the eyes and say the next line from the depth of my heart with all sincerity. Do not ever allow embarrassment or fear to overcome you and keep you from gliding across the floor. Your God, your Protector, is always with you and He has created you to shine. Say yes to the invitation and let Him woo your heart. As you get more comfortable and confident you can offer others the beautiful gift of the dance as well. You have nothing to fear!

What is holding you back?

Is there anything that is holding you back from dancing freely with the King? Name it. Write it down and ask God to help you work through it. Then, tear that paper up, set it on fire or throw it in the trash and let that go! It is time for you to be set free. Do you feel the pitter patter in your heart beginning a new beat? The dance is waiting…what are you waiting for?

Maybe you have been doing this dance for a while now and you know there are people in your life who need to know about your dance partner. Ask God to help you be bold enough to share about your story of the dance. It is not your job to persuade them or push them into the dance. That is God’s work. You have been given the gift and opportunity to extend your hand and invite others into this beautiful dance. Everyone is welcome.

God trusts us!

What an honor that God trusts us to invite others to His dance! We get to grab that stack of invitations He has handed us and start handing them out. Let’s begin by writing our list of invitees down. We can begin praying that God will open their ears to hear Him whisper in their hearts the way that we are learning to do as well!

Lord, thank You for this beautiful invitation, for the grace and mercy as we make mistakes and for preparing us for that dream dance with you in the ballroom of Heaven. I am forever thankful for the relationship we have formed through the many dances we have already danced and look forward to the many more to come.
