Patience and Endurance | I Hope You Dance Series

So because our hope is set on what is yet to be seen, we patiently keep on waiting for its fulfillment.

Romans 8:25 (tpt)

Resilience and Resignation

I want it NOW! Amazon Prime, Netflix, the next book in the series I am reading! I want to be the mother I’ve always wanted to be, the wife I thought I’d be, and the most in-shape I’ve ever been! Isn’t it time for the ball? Where is my perfect dress, the matching purse and shoes, the make-up, the hair, the nails to go with that perfect body I’ve always strived to achieve? I want it NOW! I can’t wait for the day of the dance to arrive.

Is it time? Is it time? I am bursting with anticipation for the dance of a lifetime. The one where my perfect prince sweeps me off my feet and I am whisked away breathlessly living my daydream. These preparations are neverending and I am exhausted in the waiting. Yet, I want to be everything that God wants me to be. I want to give Him all the time in the world to pamper me and prepare me for eternity.

I do not want to miss out on the royal treatment like that of Queen Esther. She was pampered in baths of milk and honey and her skin soothed with oils so that she was prepared to meet her future husband, the king. Esther was being prepared for an event in which her life would be forever changed. She was also being prepared to save her entire family and faith. Queen Esther was taken from her family, married to a harsh ruler and then she had the opportunity to save her people. She leaned in, learned to trust God, took her time and practiced everything that she had been taught. It was her time to shine… she had been prepared for “such a time as this!” Esther 4:14

I for one do not want to miss out on all that I need to learn about the dance. I want to be as prepared as possible. To practice, have patience, and wait on the Lord. He will let me know when the time is right.

Practicing Patience

What are you waiting for in your life? Are there things you want changed and changed now? Do you feel yourself getting impatient? Ask God what He wants you to do while you are in this season of waiting. God is preparing your heart for the dance of your life, it will be worth the wait.
